There’s only one thing to do when you first move into shared halls with a bunch of strangers:
Get in the kitchen get a brew on, break out the biscuits and get to know your new best friends.

But be careful, your choice of biscuit may reveal more than you think.

Before we start, a word of warning, if you crack out the rich tea biscuits and offer them around — don’t. The rich tea is better used as a coaster than a biscuit and even then it’s pants.

1. Custard Cream
The classic. You’re safe, reliable and always have just the thing when others are in a bind.

2. The Bourbon
Wise beyond your years yet young at heart. There’s a worldliness about you, always ready with a story for any situation.

3. The Hobnob
Adventurous, you spend most of your time climbing mountains and walking in the wilderness. Rain holds no fear for you.

4. The Digestive Biscuit
Content, you’ve reached a point where you’re happy with life. Saving the nicer things for special occasions.

5. The Jammy Dodger
Party Animal. You like the sweeter things in life, upbeat music and quirky clothes are your bag.

6. The Party Ring
You cling to childhood. Faced with the looming prospect of adulthood you take refuge in your past and the time before responsibility it represents.

7. Jaffa Cake
This is not a biscuit. Don’t even think about dunking it.

8. Dark Chocolate Digestive
There’s an air of pretense that surrounds you. Your numerous attempts at sophistication usually end in failure but you carry on undaunted.

9. Pink Wafer
Potential criminal inclinations. Petty theft is not below you.

So when you switch that kettle on and offer round the biscuit tin, perhaps consider a variety pack and discover the hidden personalities of your new flat mates. What do you choose? Tweet us @UniNorthants
