What to expect on open day | Waterside VIP tours
To experience our brand new campus, join a VIP Waterside tour
Our brand new campus Waterside is opening in September 2018. The finishing touches are still being made to the buildings — wifi is being installed; seating and cafe spaces are being added; teaching spaces are being installed with audio visual equipment.
To take a look before the official opening date we highly recommend taking a guided tour as part of your open day experience.
Ways to reach Waterside | bus from Park Campus for accommodation tours
On open days we are running bus tours down from Park and Avenue Campus to visit student accommodation at Waterside. These are free and the bus timetable will be in the info you will be given at registration.
Leave around two hours for the accommodation tour and bus transfer; make sure you leave enough time to get back for any subject sessions you have schedules.
The new student village has a mix of halls and townhouses. Halls are grouped into flats, which share a kitchen. Halls bedrooms are mostly designed with en-suite bathrooms. The townhouses have a more traditional layout, with kitchen and living spaces on the ground floor, bedrooms and bathrooms on the floors above.
Ways to reach Waterside | park in town for Senate
If you want to take a sneak peek at the truly splendid Senate building, you’ll need to make your own way down and park in one of the town centre car parks. Unfortunately, our accommodation tours won’t give you access to Senate.
Senate will be a space for guest lectures, exhibitions and events, as well as a dedicated space for research students.
Senate is also the home to a splendid Harvard-style teaching space, with seating arranged in a horseshoe designed to maximise interaction between students and tutors.
