With the start of the new term coming up, it’s natural that your thoughts are turning to money matters. So, we wanted to make sure you had all the info to make term a bit easier.

1. Student Budget Calculator
It’s all too easy to get carried away in the January sales with a big spending spree. So check out the ‘This is Money’ student budget calculator. It’s a handy tool to help you visualise your finances as you go!
2. We can help find you a job!

3. Check your tax code
To make sure you are paying the correct amount of tax on your earnings, visit the HMRC website — you can also apply for a refund if you have paid too much.
4. Get your NUS card
When you do spend, make sure you are getting the best deal! The NUS Extra Card costs £12 and offers you over 170 savings with online and in-store retailers for a year. Get yours from the NUS website.
5. Need a little extra help? Talk to the Financial Guidance Team
Our Financial Guidance Team gives support on student finance issues including student loans, grants and bursaries, budgeting and money management. Plus, if you are a UK student and are struggling with your finances you can apply for extra financial support, through the Financial Assistance Fund.
