Student Christmas Travel: A Guide

Holidays are expensive, exhausting and exciting. We have put together a must-see guide for traveling to and from University over Christmas.

4 Weeks before:

Plan your return journey, book that train or coach. Find out who you can lift share with and travel in style on the cheap. (Psst..you can use your dedicated university Facebook group to help with this!)

2 Weeks before:

Work out what you need to do in between all those urgent social calendar engagements. Find out when your January deadlines/exams are and book some time in, just like you would for that party you must attend.

Walking back into uni mega prepared like..

The Day Before:

Pack your essentials:

  • Presents
  • Dirty Laundry
  • Valuables
  • One of the rabbits you found on Park Campus
  • Toothbrush etc.
*Leaving flatmates for a month*

The Night Before:

Slip a tenner under your pillow and leave it as a new years gift to your future self. Aw, you so nice.

First night out of the new semester got me like

On the day:

Make sure you take with you or eat any fresh food you’ve got. There’s only one thing worse than wasting food and that’s coming back to rotten food. Oh and unplug your electricals!!

1 week later:

Sit sipping your Bucks Fizz on Christmas morning and be thankful that your biggest worry is how many helpings of dinner you’re going to manage before you pass out amongst a sea of Quality Street wrappers.

Your Return:

Celebrate the New Year in style, recover from your hangover and make your resolutions. Then travel back to University with the least-stressful journey anyone’s ever been on because you have been the Queen/King of Organisation. PRAISE.
