1. Download the Discovery Day Guide

Available here, the Discovery Day guide should be your first download once you’ve confirmed your place. Packed full of information including travel and parking info, timetables and session lists, you can use it to plan out what you want to see, and avoid getting lost when you’re here.

Available on our Website

2. Ask Questions

When you’re on campus, everyone you see in a blue hoodie/jacket is a current student ambassador. They are here to make sure that your day runs smoothly, but they’re also happy to answer any questions you have about what it is like to be a student here. Want to know what the nightlife is really like, or the best place to get a haircut? These guys can tell you, so don’t be shy.

3. Make Friends

The people around you in your subject sessions have all applied to do the same course as you. This means that in September they may well be your class/flatmates. Getting to know them early means that you’ll have friends at uni from day one, and can chat about any prep work, what to bring with you, or anything else you may want to know.

4. Join our Applicant Group

In the same vein, our applicant Facebook group is open now here, join the group to find out more about your course, accommodation, and other uni preparation information, as well as get to know the other people who are starting with you. You may be surprised how many people you can get to know.

5. Don’t forget to drop-in

Only a portion of the events at our Discovery Days are timetabled. There are also a number of drop-in sessions that you can attend, all listed in the Discovery Day guide. Make sure to get to the ones that you are interested in, we can recommend the Student Union drop in, and the Changemaker drop-in where you can find out about our Northampton Employment Promise.

6. Feedback Feedback Feedback

Once you’ve attended a Discovery Day you’ll be sent a survey to fill in about the day. If you have feedback or suggestions about how our event could be better, please let us know so that we can improve the experience for everyone. If you have questions or concerns whilst you’re here, please feel free to talk to our events team who will be happy to help.

If you have any questions about the Discovery Days, or want to know more, please contact us on 0300 303 2772 or contact us @UniNorthants
