UoN Graduation — special day, amazing kit

Shoes! Those five-inch heels you brought months ago off ASOS are beautiful — but bring a pair of flats to save you poor soles. Also with your “Oxfords not brogues” (Kingsman) bring those plasters.

Congratulations on all your hard work!

Pin it up. Your gown will fly away and will not behave, so bring some safety pins to secure it all down.

The ‘Hair do’. You won’t wear your cap inside so don’t worry about your hair! You don’t need to pin the cap in place so wear your hair however you want. Let it be free.

Last years graduation was hot — fingers crossed for this year

Planning. Plan when you’re going to arrive, pick up your gown, meet your friends, socialise, eat food. Book somewhere for food in advance to avoid disappointment. There isn’t a lot of time and you want a big huzzah because you deserve it.

Your booking confirmation. Please remember your booking documentation for your gown and tickets, print a million copies off just in case it’ll make it smoother for all on the day.

Here come the Clergy last graduation ‘17

Finally but not least the most important things in life: Food and beverages. It’s going to be a long day so keep yourself hydrated and fed, and avoid any hangry feelings mid-ceremony.

Celebrating graduation rom-com style

Weather predictions, check the weather before arriving this can totally change the day. As the beautiful Derngate auditorium can get warm, just be warned!

Some films for you to watch the night before to get in the mood for graduation: Monsters University (2013); Pitch Perfect (2012); DUFF (2015); Legally Blonde (2001).
