7 Things to do in Northampton this Winter
Social Media, Kylie has complied a list of great events running in Northampton to keep you entertained over the long winter months.
Summer is now a distant memory of ice cream fueled days in the sun…Who are we kidding?! This is England, it was more like days sprinting to the ice cream van in between bursts of rain. Nevertheless it is always a disappointment when it is over and the days get colder and the nights longer so check out my 7 top Winter activities below:
When: 5 November 2016 6:30pm–8:30pm
Located opposite our Avenue campus this event will have music, fairground rides and food stalls from 2pm, with a bonfire and firework display to follow in the evening. So fill up on candy apples, go on the rides until you feel sick and then watch some pretty fireworks, it wouldn’t be 5th November otherwise.
Northampton Winter Food Festival
When: 12–13 November 2016
This food festival is a foodies’ dream. This festival is a celebration of artisan food and drink. Held at the county ground this is the perfect place to bag some gifts for the family, after all your Mum can never have enough organic homemade jam in a fancy jar!
A Night At The Movies — Musical Edition
If you are a lover of musical theatre and classics such as Grease and The Rocky Horror Show then this is the perfect event for you. This tribute show consists of two 45 minute acts and dancing afterwards with food and drinks available to order throughout the evening, what more could you ask for?
When it is too rainy or cold to venture outside why not go to one of the local museums instead. The Northampton Shoe and Boot Museum has the largest collection of objects charting the history of shoes in the world! If shoes aren’t your thing then there is always Abington Museum where you can learn about the history of Northamptonshire.
Sledging in Abington Park…maybe!
Well, this one is dependent on snow showing up this year, a bit hit or miss. However if we do not get any don’t worry there is plenty of artificial snow in nearby Milton Keynes so you can get your sledging fix.
See a show at The Royal and Derngate
Treat yourself to an evening of entertainment at The Royal and Derngate Theatre. There are a variety of shows happening this winter, plus the pies they serve in the restaurant are worth a trip!
