6 more reasons we’re looking forward to Waterside…

Even more reasons students are looking forward to UoN’s new campus in September… kinda trivial but we love them

1. More plugs! Have you ever had your phone die in a seminar? No more, the new campus now has plugs in the floor in seminar rooms. True wizardry.

2. The library will be 24/7, so midnight sessions in the library with biscuits and buckets of coffee can now be a reality.

There will also be numerous new books, physical or online

3. Crucially, Nandos and Subway are now only a short walk away from campus. Food is obviously the centre of the universe, so always a good idea to know how far away these are.

4. Water and green spaces are round every corner. The campus winds its way round the River Nene and the Northampton arm of the Grand Union Canal… with pocket parks and green vistas all built in to the designs. So, you can chill, do work, socialise and get that Insta-worthy shot by picture-perfect Northampton Marina, all without straying too far from campus.

5. Morrisons is eight minutes away (yes, we said eight minutes away people), so if you need a sweet treat post-assignment, you do not have to go far.

For world-beating culinary creations, and the best Sunday morning Scotch Eggs known to man, we estimate a 20–25-minute amble to Magee Street Bakery on Magee Street.

6. Oh yes, laundry heaven! Really seriously, the new student village has a top-of-the-range laundry to do your washing in. So no need to nip into Primark to buy extra underwear and t-shirts when times get dire. Come on Waterside. We. Can’t. Wait.

Not long until we’re in Waterside, for updates and more information please visit our HelloWaterside page and our other social media platforms!
