“Say hello and be friendly to everyone you meet.”

Thomas Grant

“Don’t feel you have to do freshers week or go out on the first night. Moving in and meeting so many people in one day can be exhausting and you may just rather sleep.”

Taryn Astle

“If you are in halls, leave the door open to encourage conversations between flatmates.”

Natasha Scott

“Try not worry too much, everyone else is in the same boat as you, even if they don’t look like they are.”

Charlie Ashby

“Join a sports club or society. It’s a great way to meet new people!”

Leanne Matthews

“Think of all the beautiful people you’ll meet and all the opportunities and fun you’ll have!”

Robert Barbu

“Bring plenty of medicine… freshers flu lasts longer than expected”

Megan Stokes

“Register with the doctors straight away, don’t wait until you’re ill!”

Naomi-Katrina Amy

“You will feel things now that you won’t feel in six months, so have fun!”

Beth Sharpe

“Chill out! Don’t worry about every little thing, freshers are surprisingly friendly with each other.”

Lottie Flynn

“University is great and you will have an amazing time if you simply open yourself to the experience.”

Jemma D’cruz

So try not to worry, and don’t forget we have a huge array of student support on hand to help you at any point throughout your time at uni!

See you in September #UoN
