1) Live in the present…

Paying more attention to the present moment, to your own thoughts, feelings, and to the world around you can improve your mental and emotional well-being. Yes! Good news for those of us who are distracted by what’s just happened or what’s around the corner…

Take responsibility for today and come relax in the Tpod in Park Library for our Mindfulness session on 4 May at 3:15–3:45pm.

2) Learn new skills…

Find something you enjoy and take a class, get back to a hobby or sign up for something you have always wanted to try! Achieving your personal goals will increase your self-confidence and help you to feel more excited about the future.

Where possible get creative too as this will also improve your mood and mental agility. Events or fun projects can help you to get involved, meet new people and provide fulfilment. Grab that sketch pad. Dust off your old guitar…

3) Practise relaxation exercises…

Concentrating on each group of muscles or part of the body will enable you to let go of any stress you are holding leaving you feeling more relaxed and re-charged.

Learn this method at Tpod in Park Library during our specialist relaxation body scan session on 8 May at 2:15–2:45pm.

4) Practise gratitude…

We take inspiration from author Liggy Webb…

Liggy suggests that we “wake up with an attitude of gratitude” and train our mind to focus and start every day with a positive and appreciative thought.

She suggests keeping a “gratitude journal” to write the good things that happen in life… so that when it is difficult for you to be grateful, just open and read.

“Probortunities” Out of every problematic situation there is an opportunity. Liggy says you can choose to focus on the problem OR the solution and we agree!

5) Love yourself first…

Breathe gently, and recite inwardly phrases directed to your own wellbeing. Without loving yourself it is almost impossible to love another. Value yourself and take a few minutes to reflect on what you have done well. Take pride in any compliments that you receive and remember to say thank you!

Begin with yourself! Come relax in the Tpod in Park Library for our loving-kindness meditation session on 15 May at 2:15–2:45pm.♥️💕

6) Stay active and eat well…

Exercise for 30 minutes 5 days a week is proven to grow your wellbeing. You will boost your fitness, lower your anxiety and feel even comfier in your jeans!

Food can massively influence your mood so try to go healthy where you can but don’t give up your favourite treat!

7) Take a break…

Work smarter, not harder. Treat yourself to a day off now and then, when you need it the most. We know how important this is, so join us for a “De-Stress Fest” from 23 to 27 April.

8) Practise guided meditation…

A guided meditation will help you to feel more awake, focused and enthusiastic.

Need to recharge? Be guided in the Tpod in Park Library for our visualisation session on 24 May at 2:15–2:45pm.🔌🔋

9) Ask for help…

If you feel under pressure or that your world is spiralling out of control, take the opportunity to discuss your feelings. We have a fantastic team that can help you achieve peace of mind. You can visit their site and contact them here...

…Or you can call them on 01604 892833!

10) Stay in touch…

Research has demonstrated that people whose goals in life are focused on family and friends have an increased wellbeing, so keep in touch with them, make plans and enjoy the company!
